Rotary's CASSOWARY COAST  -  Skills Day Out

• Awarness of Trades, Traineeships and employment opportunities operating in the Cassowary Coast
• Attraction and retention of skills on the Cassowary Coast
• Increasing access to training
• Promoting employment opportunities on the Cassowary Coast

The Inaugural expo was held in 2009 to great acclaim from both exhibitors and attendees. In 2010 the Expo has been renamed Skills Day Out, Cassowary Coast and its reach will be expanded accordingly to all of the Cassowary Coast. Through the major support of Queensland Apprenticeship Services which partners with Skilling groups across North Queensland, Skilling Tully has access to funding from Blueprint for the Bush.  In 2011 Skilling Tully held a Skills Night Out targeting local businesses.  Guest speaker Max Walker was great entertainment.  A great night was had by all.

Skills Day Out, Cassowary Coast is about:

• Showcasing skills using interactive displays
• Presenting traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities available to all people on the Cassowary Coast
• Presenting available career pathway opportunities
• Showing school age children opportunities that exist for career development after school
